El Gobierno de México ya recibió la solicitud formal de Estados Unidos para extraditar al capo del narcotráfico Rafael Caro Quintero, detenido desde hace un mes, según reveló el presidente, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).

Cuestionado en su conferencia mañanera por la solicitud de extradición de Washington, el mandatario respondió que “sí, claro que sí” la ha recibido.

“Yo creo que sí, Relaciones (Exteriores) debe de tener ya la solicitud y la Fiscalía (General de la República) lo mismo”, señaló.

Sus declaraciones se producen tras cumplirse un mes del arresto de Caro Quintero, el 15 de julio en el noroeste del país, con fines de extradición a Estados Unidos, donde la Agencia Antidrogas (DEA, en inglés) lo considera el capo más buscado.

Pero la extradición se ha retrasado porque Caro Quintero, fundador del Cártel de Guadalajara, ha obtenido amparos para suspender de forma indefinida su traslado a Estados Unidos, donde está acusado del secuestro, tortura y asesinato en 1985 de Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, agente especial de la DEA.

El mandatario denunció la “intromisión alevosa de las agencias del Gobierno de Estados Unidos” tras declaraciones anónimas de agentes de la DEA a la prensa nacional e internacional en las que expresaron su desconfianza en la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Sedena).

El presidente también rechazó la información de que hubo cerca de 14 intentos de detener a Caro Quintero desde 2013 entorpecidos por las autoridades mexicanas.

López Obrador opinó que los agentes “siguen con la misma concepción” que en “los tiempos” del expresidente Felipe Calderón (2006-2012), cuando Estados Unidos realizó el operativo “Rápido y furioso” para introducir armas al país y rastrear a narcotraficantes.

México solicitará asesoría en EU y Alemania para rescate de mineros atrapados en Coahuila

Laura Velázquez, coordinadora nacional de Protección Civil, informó que solicitarán asesoría a empresas de Estados Unidos y Alemania para tener mayor precisión en los trabajos de rescate de los 10 trabajadores que están atrapados en la mina El Pinabete en Sabinas, Coahuila.

En conferencia matutina en Palacio Nacional, la funcionaria explicó que este trámite se está realizando a través de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores (SRE) a petición de los familiares de las víctimas.

“Estaremos contactando a dos empresas de Alemania y Estados Unidos, platicaremos hoy con ellos para saber quién es la que nos puede aportar la mejor opinión, la más amplia, tomando en cuenta la condición de la mina para determinar acciones con mayor precisión, es una solicitud permanente de las familias con quienes estamos de manera permanente”, dijo.

En tanto, anunció que hoy iniciarán los estudios geofísicos para determinar cómo se va a construir el muro de cemento que permitirá controlar los niveles de agua al interior de la mina. Este martes se cumplieron 303 horas de trabajo de rescate con el apoyo de más de 600 elementos y 13 bombas que están sacando agua a una velocidad de 437 litros por segundo.

“Hoy inician estudios geofísicos que nos van a ayudar a determinar dónde van a ir las oquedades para un minado subterráneo, mañana temprano daremos un informe de ubicaciones precisas y cuántos barrenos se van a colocar para construir el muro de contención entre ambas minas”, agregó.

En tanto, informó que los niveles de metano están controlados y a la baja, mientras que los niveles de agua permanecen en el Pozo 2 con 39 metros de inundación, el Pozo 3 con 41.68 metros y el Pozo 4 con 38.8.

La Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) formuló la imputación a M.M.G. por los delitos de homicidio y lesiones, ambos cometidos por culpa, los cuales fueron denunciados tras los hechos ocurridos la semana pasada en la carretera Mérida-Chetumal, donde perdieron la vida tres personas y dos más resultaron heridas, motivo por el cual el imputado permanecerá bajo la medida cautelar de prisión preventiva.

En la audiencia celebrada este día ante la Juez de Control del Segundo Distrito Judicial con sede en Kanasín, los fiscales de litigación formularon la imputación de los delitos y a continuación expusieron los datos de prueba para pedir la vinculación a proceso del imputado, quien se acogió a la duplicidad del término legal para definir su situación jurídica, por lo que la Juez de Control estableció que la audiencia se reanude el próximo 19 de agosto.

Los hechos, reunidos en la carpeta de investigación que fue judicializada bajo la causa penal 120/2022, ocurrieron el pasado 12 de agosto, cuando el acusado conducía un tracto camión en la citada vía, pero al hacerlo sin la precaución necesaria, impactó un vehículo que se encontraba en el acotamiento a la altura del kilómetro 37, en el tramo Telchaquillo-Tekik, provocando con su acción que tres personas perdieran la vida y dos más resultaran con lesiones.

Por último, esta representación social expuso los argumentos para sustentar la solicitud de la medida cautelar de prisión preventiva, misma que fue concedida por la Juez de Control por todo el tiempo que dure el proceso, por lo que el imputado permanecerá privado de su libertad hasta esclarecer su participación en los hechos denunciados.
